Priorities
Jim understands that in order to solve many of our everyday issues, it starts by electing a State Representative who is accessible, forward-thinking, and capable of bringing people from all walks of life together. That’s how our politics should work and how we can develop policies which offer a positive impact for our community.
Learn how Jim will fight for those in HD55 if elected to the State House.
Fighting for the Next Generation
- Increase funding for K-12 education and ensure it reaches the classroom.
- Defend the free breakfast and lunch program that was signed into law by Governor Whitmer.
- Support teachers with fair pay and professional respect.
- Expand career and technical education to prepare students for real jobs — not just tests.
- Make higher education more affordable and accessible, whether it’s college, community college, or skilled trades.

Tackling the Affordability Crisis & Supporting Small Businesses
- Put working families first — not corporate lobbyists.
- Support small businesses, local manufacturing, and job training programs that prepare workers for today’s economy.
- Promote common sense policies that make it easier — not harder — to raise a family in Michigan such as paid family leave.
- Improve access to public transportation to unlock economic opportunity in every corner of the district.
- Protect the right to organize and ensure fair wages for all workers.
Investing in Affordable Health Care
- Protect access to Michigan’s Medicaid expansion program.
- Fight for more affordable healthcare and mental health services.
- Lower prescription drug prices and bring more transparency to how prices are determined.
- Safeguard reproductive freedom and personal privacy.
- Support our social workers and caregivers who are looking after loved ones.
